The BMW Guggenheim Lab is a travelling “building” structure that was first installed in New York, then moved to Berlin, and Mumbai.

The lab creates community platform for people to gather and discuss social and urban issues relevant to their own communities and cities at large. The lab acted as an umbrella that brought people together to celebrate the spirit of community.

The structure consisted of a large volume set overhead, above an empty ground space. The ground level is unobstructed and the overhead volume is used to store all the equipment and furniture that the lab uses. Whenever the lab hosted an event, the relevant equipment and furniture was lowered to the ground for use.

All the equipment and furniture is stored overhead to maintain an unobstructed ground.
